The Christian Ministry course is an elective course for those seniors who have been chosen to be on the SCC Peer Ministry Team. In this course students will both learn about and implement various aspects of ministry, such as retreats, liturgy, and service. Peer ministers will also learn skills for group facilitation, communication, public speaking and liturgical design and art, storytelling and drama.

IV.
The Church History course examines the Church's history from Pentecost and the Acts of the Apostles through the Second Vatican Council and onto the present day. the lives and roles of key persons and saints are studied as to their historical importance to the salvation story of all Christians. The Christian Lifestyles course focuses on understanding human relationships and its roles in Christian vocations, such as, marriage, single life, sisterhood, brotherhood and ordained. it also includes discussion of adolescence sexual development and the present challenges faced by young Christian adults in achieving sexual and moral maturity. |

The Morality course studies the decision making process that incorporates the teachings of Jesus Christ and the catholic Church. It investigates the necessity of moral guidelines in a person's life with emphasis on the moral challenges facing adolescent youth. The Justice course explores the role of the Christians in dealing with justice issues in our world today, such as, prejudice discrimination, economics, healthcare, human rights and peace. The course helps students to take a personal and global perspective that echoes the message and mission of Jesus. |

The New Testament course will explore the life, ministry, message, meaning, and the teaching of Jesus, and the salvation action of the paschal mystery. The course focuses on the integrated biblical concepts and values into students everyday life. The Sacraments course explores how symbols and ritual are part of the life and worship of the catholic church and of their relationship to the origins, history, and central meaning of each of the seven sacraments. |

The Creeds course serves as an introduction to the Catholic Christianity, examines different expressions of faith and offers a clear integrated review of the basic Catholic teachings in a way that respects the unique perspective of the freshmen. The Old Testament course will help students understand the meaning of God's word that arose out of the salvation history of the Hebrew people . The course will also connect the stories of the old testament to our Christian faith. |
