Macbeth Banquets
On Monday, October 31, Mrs. Millet's C and E period English IV Honors classes performed a banquet in the library from the play Macbeth, which they are currently reading in class. Students were broken up into groups and each group was given a different job. These jobs included making a Coat of Arms for Macbeth's family, decorating the banquet table and the library, bringing in food items to eat during the scene and afterward, and acting out the banquet scene itself. It was a great success and was enjoyed by all.
Students created a family Coat of Arms for Macbeth. This one includes the motto "Mediocris Turpis Uaque Turpis Mediocris", meaning "Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair". Students brought in various food items to set the banquet table with. This banquet table features mixed nuts, bread rolls, and pumpkin roll (a cream cheese filled dessert).
Justin Lanoux, Andree Ory, Justin Hawthorne, and Brandon Lienhop act out the banquet scene as the rest of the class watches. Nicholas Waldridge plays the ghost of the dead Banquo, who was murdered by his best friend Macbeth and returns to haunt him.
