Comets 9 Holy Cross 6

The Comets played Holy Cross on Tuesday at Mel Ott Stadium after a big win against Jesuit. The Comets came out fired up again with 9 hits and ended up with another victory 9-6. Leading the Comets at the plate were Alex Marse with 3 hits. Marc Picciola, Brandon Becker, and Jordan Millet all had 2 hits.

The game started off looking good for the comets when Alex Marse knocked a base hit up the middle. After he stole second, Marc Picciola hit a line drive off the thrid baseman's glove which allowed Marse to reach third. Marse then scored on Brandon Becker's base hit to right field, that would end the inning. In the third the Comets came out again swinging the sticks. Alex Marse led off with a walk. Corey Reed reached first by a fielder's choice. Picciola hit a triple to right center which scored Reed. Becker push bunted Picciola in. Millet hit a double to left center and advanced to second on Jonathan Cancienne's base on balls. Nick Reine got hit by a pitch, the inning ended on a grounder to third base. The Comets were scoreless until the seventh when Reed and Picciola got on base by base on balls. Becker drag bunted for a hit and advanced the runners. The bases were loaded and the infeild was in for Jordan Millet. Millet hit a hard ground ball past the second baseman and scored two. Cancienne walked and D.J. Wesley reached on a fielder's choice by the pitcher. Alex Marse hit a double down the right field line and scored Wesley. Marse was thrown out trying to advance to third.

The winning pitcher was Alex Marse (1-0) and Donovan Duffy would get the save.
