Comets defeat Port Allen 58-45
The Comets improved to 3-4 in district play after a 58-45 win over the Port Allen Pelicans Tuesday night. The Comets have an overall record of 10-18. Demarcus Bernard sunk 21 points for the the Comets. Zack Goodwin also played well scoring 14 points. The Comets are playing the Plaquemine Green Devils this Friday in Laplace. Comet seniors Demarcus Bernard, Gabe Corchiani, and James Parker will be honored before the game. The Comets need a win to stay in the playoff race.

Comets split in district road goames
The Comets shot down the Port Allen Pellicans in overtime 54-52. This was a big district win for the Comets against a district opponent who is highly ranked int the state polls. Zack Goodwin lead the team with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 blocked shot. Demarcus Bernard was also a big part of the win scoring 8 poimts, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
A few days laler the Comets just fell short of a win over the number one ranked Plaquemine Green Devils by the score fo28-25. Demarcus Bernard put up 13 points in the game. Zack Goodwin dropped in 7 points to keep the Comets in the game.
Comets defeat Brusly for district win
The Comets picked up a win last night against the Brusly Panthers. The Comets won the game by a score of 49-44. Zack Goodwin led the team in points dropping 13 for the Comets. Birch Matus also played well scoring 11 points. The Comets record is now up to 7-19 and they are 1-1 in district game. The Comets will use this win to pick up some momentum heading into Port Allen on Friday.
Comets fall to Lutcher in district opener
The Comets started district play Tuesday against the Lutcher Bulldogs. The Comets battled a very athletic Lutcher team and were very close at times, but the Bulldogs were victorious winning by a score of 70-50. Gabe Corchiani scored 14 points to lead the team. The Comets have a record of 6-13. Come support the Comets on January 27 at home as they take on another district opponent Brusly.
