Comets face Wossman in state playoffs
The Comets fell to the Plaquemine Green Devils 52-42 in a seeding game for the state playoffs. The Comets finished the regular season with a 6-2 district record and in a first place tie with Plaquemine. They were co-champs in district play. The girls are the #28 seed in the play-offs and will travel to Wossman (Monroe) Thursday night for the opening round. The game will start at 6 p.m.

The Comet girls basketball team is 6-1 in district and one win away from finishing in first place. The Comets will travel to Brusly Friday seeking a victory and the district 9-3A title. The Comets only loss was to Plaquemine who is currently in second place with a 5-2 record.
The Comets are looking good down the stretch winning two of their last three district games. On January 30, the Comets took down the Port Allen Pelicans 37-19. Brooke Becker had an excellent game scoring 20 points with 3 assists and 11 rebounds. Kacie Braud also played well scoring 10 points.
On February 3, the Comets were defeated by the Plaquemine Green Devils 48-29. Despite losing the game, Brooke Becker had a good game scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 steals.
On February 6, the Comets knocked off the Lutcher Bulldogs 40-27. The team was lead by Brooke Becker who scored 24 points and had 4 assists. Jaymie Remondet also contributed by grabing 10 rebounds for the Comets. The Comets will wrap up their regular season against the Brusly Panthers, with a win they can be the outright district champions.
Comets defeat Brusly to go 4-0
The Comets keep rolling with their 7th straight win. Their last victory came over the Brusly Panthers 49-46. This win brings the Comets record to a total of 18-10 and 4-0 in district play. Brooke Becker scored 30 points in this district game. Congratulations to Brooke who just became the first player in school history to score 2,000 points in their four years at SCC. Brooke has also made the academic composite all-state team.
