Comets fall in state playoffs
The Comets traveled to Opelousas for the first round of the playoffs to face Westminister on Wednesday, February 4. The Comets lost 7-0. Congratulations Comets on a great season. After getting off to a rough start, the Comets really turned it on in district to make a run into the playoffs.

On Thursday, January 29, the Comets traveled to E.D. White to face the Cardinals. The Comets were defeated 3-1. The Comets played extremely well in the defeat. Jeffrey Hall scored the goal for the Comets. This wraps up the regular season. The Comets anxiously await who their opponent will be in the first round of the playoffs.
Comets defeat Riverside, face E.D. White next
On Thursday, January 22, the Comets defeated district rival Riverside. The final score was 2-0. Paul Cupit and Josh Matherne each had a goal. The win improves the Comets district record to 3-1. The Comets next opponent will be E.D. White on Thursday, January 29, at E.D. White.

Soccer boys defeat Houma Christian 6 -0
On Thursday, January 15 the Comets defeated Houma Christian 6-0. Paul Cupit scored two goals along with Karl Gommel who also had two goals. Pierre St. Martin and Daniel Ballard each had a goal. The Comets are improving and are undefeated in district (2-0). The Comets will host the highly anticipated district showdown against E.D. White on Tuesday, January 20, at Thomas J. Dupuy Stadium. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday January 6, the Comets defeated cross-town rival Riverside. The final score was an impressive 7-0 victory. This win gives the Comets their first win streak of the year. Upcoming important home games for the Comets include Houma Christian (Thursday January 15), E.D. White (Tuesday January 20) and Riverside (Tuesday January 22).
During the Christmas holidays the Comets picked up their first win of the season over Helen Cox by a score of 7-1. Paul Cupit had a hat trick scoring three goals. Karl Gommel scored two goals. Daniel Ballard and James Anton each added in a goal. The Comets hope to use this game as momentum to turn the season around and make a run for the playoffs.
