Comets win district, playoffs next

The Lady Comets traveled to E.D. White on Thursday, January 29. They defeated the Cardinals in 3-0. The win crowns the Lady Comets as district champions. This wraps up the regular season and it looks as the Lady Comets could make a run in the playoffs. The Comets are anxiously waiting to see who their opponent will be in the first round of the playoffs.

Comets tie Chapelle

The Comets played a non-district game against the Chapelle Chipmunks on Tuesday, January 27. The game ended in a tie 1-1. The Comets' only goal was scored by Reyna Lubin. The Comets' next game will be a district showdown against the E.D. White Cardinals on Thursday, January 29. The game will be played in Thibodaux.

Comets defeat Northlake Christian 2-1

The girls soccer team picked up another win against Northlake Christian. The Lady Comets defeated them by a score of 2-1. Clarissa Guidry and Cassi Drexel both came up big in this win scoring goals. Clarissa had the winning goal with a little over 5 minutes left in the match.This game improves the Comets' record to 13-2-1. The Comets will play home this Saturday against Episcopal of Acadiana.

The girls soccer team defeated St. Joseph Academy 6-0. Reyna Lubin Scored 4 goals. Kristine Brouwer and Cassi Drexel each added a goal of their own. The comets then went on to play Destrehan in the next game. They won 2-1. Scoring for the comets were Reyna Lubin and Brittni Landry who each had one goal. In the next round of the tournament, the girls defeated 5A opponent H.L. Bourgeoius 6-1. Emily Bourgeoius and Ricki Bratcher scored one goal a piece while Reyna Lubin scored 4 goals. On Lubin's fourth goal, she scored her 100th career goal at SCC. Reyna is an LSU soccer signee and the first and only girl to score 100 goals in their 4 years at SCC. When asked about her achievement, Lubin said "I was really excited because it has been one of my high school goals to score 100. With the help of my team, I achieved this." The Lady Comets will play in the Hahnville Tournament this weekend (Dec. 6-7). Good Luck lady Comets!
