Dutchtown Tourney
Hosanna Christian
In the first game for the Comets, they played Hosanna Christian. The Comets played a series of three games. Hosanna Christian beat our girls in the first game 25-22. Our girls rallied back and beat them in the next two games, beating Hosanna Christian for the comets first victory of the Dutchtown Tournament. Now 1-0 in the tournament they play West Feliciana and hope to be 2-0 going on to their third game. Good luck girls.
West Feliciana
The girls played their second game against the West Feliciana Saints. They came out hitting on all cylinders and lets just say there was no need for a third game in this series. The first game was no problem and the Comets beat the Saints 25-16. With the momentum going their way, the girls swept the series with the huge win in the second game, 25-14. The girls are now 2-0 in the tourney and are ready for there game against the host team, Dutchtown, at 9:30 Saturday morning.
Dutchtown
The Lady Comets continued on their rampage in the third game. The girls defeated Dutchtown in the first two games 25-11 and 25-19, moving them to 3-0. Taylor Duhe' was crucial with 4 aces and Lauren Coniglio also came through with 5 digs.
Catholic Point Coupe
The next game was against Catholic Point Coupe and the girls didn't lose a beat. Once again they came out and showed no mercy. The girls won the first game 25-23 and then had some trouble and lost the second game 23-25. Mad they had to go to a third game, the Lady Comets finished off Point Coupe in the third game 15-7. Meg Gustafson had an excellent game coming up with 6 blocks. The girls now advance to the last game against Ascencion Catholic.
Ascension Catholic
The last game of the tourney was played against Ascension Catholic. The Lady Comets handled their business in the first game defeating the Bulldogs 25-20. They started to lose their composure in the second and lost the game 14-25. The series went to a third game and the girls couldn't hang on. They ended up losing 7-15. Brooke Becker had 7 kills on the game. The girls had an excellent tourney and finished with a record of 4-1. Good job ladies!
