Comets win district championship

The Lady Comets completed district play Thursday at home against Plaquemine. The first three matches went in the Comets' favor. The scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-17. Meg Gustafson had 8 kills and Kadie Levatino had 6 digs. The win gave the Comets another district championship and their second consecutive one in 3A.

The Comets finished a perfect 8-0 with two wins over each district opponent- Lutcher, Brusly, Port Allen, and Plaquemine. Next up for the Comets is the state playoffs which will begin later this week. THe Comets will need to win one playoff game to advance to the state tournament at the Pontchartrain center next week. Brackets will be completed Tuesday and posted here by Wednesday morning.
