The Beta Club convention is an annual event for students from high schools all over the state. They participate in activities such as cheers (yells/chants), poster contests, dances to support school, quizzes, scholarship activities, and grants. At this year's convention which was held January 21-23, the Comets participated in quiz bowl, math, spelling, creative writing, and the Harris Kennedy Scholarship. The convention ended with a dance on Thursday night. Under the guidance of Mrs. Oldendorf the Beta Club has become active at SCC this year. SCC has a senior Beta Club with members coming from students in grades 10 through 12. The students who went to Beta Convention this year were:
