The Comets lost their first game friday night to nationally ranked John Curtis. The defense fought hard but would not be able to stop Curtis. The offense put together some good drives but just would not be able to find the endzone. The final score was 31-0 in favor of Curtis.

Theere were several bright spots on the night for the Comets. One was sophomore running back Jonathan Cancienne who would have 106-yards rushing on 15 carries. Casey Robottom averaged nearly 50 yards on 5 kickoff returns. The Comet defense which struggled most of the night did stiffen refuting the Patriots on all but one PAT attempts.

The Comet defense would take the field first and stop John Curtis on an interception by Jared Nowell. The rest of the half would not go well for SCC. Curtis would score four times. Two of the touchdowns for Curtis would be by QB Kyle Collura. Curtis would only manage to make one extra point to make the halftime score 25-0.

In the second half there would not be much scoring. John Curtis stellar running back Joe McKnight would score the only touchdown of the half. Another missed extra point would make the score 31-0. The Comet offense would move the ball much better in the second half. Freshman runing back Courtland Taylor would score an apparent touchdown for the Comets in the 4th quarter, but a holding penalty would wipe the score off the board. After that the Comets could not punch it into the endzone.

The next game for SCC will be the homecoming game against Desire Street Academy. The game is on Friday October 21st at Dupuy Stadium. Kickoff is at 7p.m.
