Comets open playoffs with
42-12 win over Farmerville

Averaging 17.6 yards a carry and scoring 5 touchdowns Chris Jones had a great night for the comets having 176-yards on only 10 carries. Jonathan Cancienne had 68-yards on 11 carries. Jones and Cancienne were both able to have an outstanding night due to the blocking of the offense line: Chris Wagespack, Mark Murphy, Danny Cutno, Andy Guidry, and Brad Dufrene.

The defense took the field first and shut down the Farmerville offense in three plays allowing no yards. The offense then took the field an scored on their first play. Chris Jones would score on a 44-yard touchdownr run. Chris Jones would find the endzone three more times just in the first quarter and Preston Landry making all the extra points for a 28-0 score at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter wouldn't be much different. The defense would shut down the Farmerville offense totally and the offense would score two more times before the half was over. Chris Jones would score from 8-yards out while Jonathan Cancienne would score from 2-yards out. The halftime score would be 42-0 in favor of SCC.

The second half would be played mostly by the second team. Farmerville would score two touchdowns late in the game but it would not matter. The offense would run out the clock and the comets would go on to win 42-12.

The Comets now look to advance in the playoffs on Friday night at St. James. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
