Comets defeat St. Amant 35-7

The Comets crashed the Gators' Homecoming, as they would walk away with a 35-7 victory. The Comets dominated all aspects of this game, and will use the momentum from this win going into next week.

The Comet offense played by far its best this season, picking up 340 yards. Marc Picciola had a great game passing for 4 touchdowns completing 11 of 13 passes for a total of 167 yards. The wide receivers Alex Marse, Zack Goodwin, and Tyler Roussel each had a touchdown reception. Tight end Brandon Becker scored two touchdowns, one on a 72 yard kickoff return and the other on a pass from Picciola.

The Comet backfield was not overshadowed by the passing game as Courtland Taylor rushed for 72 yards and Stafford Jones ran for 59 yards.

The defense also played an excellent game. The Gators seemed to be hitting a brick wall every play as the Comet defense pounded them the entire night. Cornerback Justin Vicknair's diving interception was the game's only turnover.

The Comets played like they could have competed with anyone on Friday. Support the Comets as they try for 3 straight road victories when the face the West St. John Rams in Edgard at 7 p.m. Friday.
