SCC played their last game of the regular season Friday November 4 against St. James. The Comets were defeated for only the second time this season which created a three way tie for second place in the district among SCC, Riverside, and St. James. SCC had a great regular season going 7-2 with a 2-2 District record. The Comets next game will be the first round of the playoffs.

St. James would receive the opening kickoff. The Comets defense would force a fumble that would be recoverd by Garrett Biven to give the comets the ball. The offense then would move down the field in seven plays to set for a field goal. Ben Benedetto would make a 25-yard field goal to give the comets a 3-0 lead. The offense would only score one more time before the half on a 8-yard touchdown run by Chris Jones. The extra point would be blocked to make the score 9-0. The defense played a great game by only giving up one touchdown in the second quarter. St. James would score right before the half to make the halftime score of 9-7.

The third quarter would be the worst quarter of the night for the comets. St. James would return two interceptions both for touchdowns. St. James would take the lead 20-9. SCC would fight back but would come up short only to score one more field goal by Ben Benedetto. The final score of the game would be 20-12 in favor of St. James.

The Comets next game is Friday November 11. The Comets face Farmerville for the first round of the playoffs. The Game will be played at Dupuy Stadium. Kickoff is at 7pm.
