Comets shutout Rebels in Jamboree
The Comets renewed their cross town rivalry with the Riverside Rebels at East St. John in the Ed Reed Jamboree. The Comets looked well prepared in their 21-0 victory. The defense dominated the Rebel offense forcing 3 turnovers. The offense showed signs of improvement from the St. Michaels scrimmage. Special teams proved to be a key factor in the win.
The defense made a good showing, not allowing the Rebels to put any points on the board. The recovered fumbles were by Matt Jaques and Dorian Mitchell. Justin Vicknair also came up with an early interception that set the tempo for the game. The offense scored through the air twice. The passes were thrown by Marc Picciola and the receptions were by Brandon Becker and Zack Goodwin. Courtland Taylor also picked up a rushing touchdown. The Comets special teams came up big when Tyler Roussel blocked a punt and it was recovered by Alex Marse. The Comets played with a lot of intensity and are excited about starting their season aginst L.W. Higgins.
