The Comets continued their winning ways with a another shutout win this time a 49-0 route of Grace King Friday night in Dupuy stadium. For the Comets the defense was dominant allowing only 3 first downs and 19 yards total offense. While the Comet defense dominated, the Comets unleashing a powerful running game led by backs Tyrell Fenroy and Cedric White who combined for 200 yards rushing on the night. It was three and out for King on
their first possession and a short punt put the Comets in business on the
Irish 39 yard line. It only took two plays for the Comets to score their
first touchdown. Tyrell Fenroy raced 16 yards around left end on the first
play from scrimmage. Then on his first carry ever as a Comet, senior
Cedric White raced around the right side for a 23 yard touchdown. A botched
two point attempt left the score 6-0. Another defensive stop followed by a short punt put the Comets in business at the King 45. Six plays later White had another TD run this one form 4 yards out. Ben Sellars added the PAT and the Comets led 13-0. The Comets squandered their next scoring opportunity deep in Irish territory. Following another short punt, the Comets misfired with a dropped touchdown pass followed by a blocked field goal. The first quarter ended 13-0. The Comets exploded for 22 points in the second quarter. Tyrell Fenroy ran in from two yards out. A Jeremy Catoire to Jamall Singleton pass play added two points and the Comets led 21-0. Fenroy scored again moments later on a run off left tackle and another Sellars PAT made the score 28-0. Right before the half, Catoire connected with tight end Travis Trepagnier on a 23 yard scoring strike. After another PAT by Sellars the Comets led swelled to 35-0. Playing mostly with reserves, and mostly jv and ninth grade players in the second half the Comets added two more scores. Cedric White scored on a 4 yard run and Shane Waite raced 52 yards for the games final score. The Comet defense led by the front five of Daniel Leblanc, Chase Villeret, Keith Maurin, Chris Cancienne, and Alton Alexander has allowed only 100 yards total offense and no points after two games. Friday night the Comets will host Lawless in Dupuy stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
