Comets shutout Lawless
host King Friday night

The Comets scored 35 first quarter points and never looked back in posting their third straight win of the season 61-0 over Lawless Sunday afternoon in LaPlace. The game was originally scheduled for Friday but had to be pushed back to Sunday due to Hurricane Ivan.

While the Comet offense continued to shine with another scoring exhibition the Comet defense continues to dominate shutting out its second straight opponent. The Comet "D" also held its second straight opponent to minus yards rushing holding the Pythians to -11 yards rushing.

Linebacker Brody Leake and safety Matt Heltz each had interceptions for the Comets. Roland Ricca blocked a punt to set up one of the Comet touchdowns. Ricca and linebacker Cory Calcagno each had 5 solo tackles for the Comets.

Tyrell Fenroy continued to etch his name in the Comet record books scoring 7 rushing touchdowns on runs of 49,8,4,26,21,47, and 17 yards. Fenroy finished the game with 156 yards on just 12 carries, with only two of those coming in the second half.

Jesse Martin completed 6 of 7 passes for 70 yards with back-up Philip Sutton completing 4 of 6 passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Chase Fletcher had 2 receptions for 37 yards and two touchdowns.

The Comets were able to play many younger players in second half of the game after building a 49 - 0 lead at the half.

The Comets host Grace King this Friday in the final game of a three game home stand. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Homecoming 2004 will be celebrated with pre-game and halftime activities.
