Comets Cruise Past Redeemer;
Host Lawless Friday Night

The Comets scored on six of seven first half possessions to build a 43--0 halftime lead and cruised past the Redeemer-Seton Rams at Dupuy stadium last Friday. The Comets scored twice in the second half on special team returns which made the final score 57-0 in the one-sided contest.

For the third straight week the Comets were able to substitute in the second half playing many younger players who are gaining valuable experience early in their high school careers.

It only took the Comets 3 plays to get on the scoreboard at the start of the game. Quarterback Jesse Martin connected with Casey Robottom on a 15 yard scoring pass in the corner of the endzone. Tyrell Fenroy gained 18 and 15 yards on two carries setting up the first touchdown. A two point conversion run by Fenroy made the score 8-0.

A botched punt attempt by the Rams put the Comets in great field position on the Redeemer 12 yard line. It only took Fenroy one play to score.  Ben Sellars PAT gave the Comets a 15-0 lead at the 7:40 mark of the first quarter.

Three plays netted a minus 14 yards for the Rams on their next possession. The Comets took over in great field position once again and scored in 3 plays with Fenroy going over from 15 yards out. The first quarter ended with the Comet on top 22-0.

The Comets scored three more time in the second quarter. Fenroy scored his third touchdown on a 13 yard run. Martin connected with Robottom for a second touchdown this time from 11 yards out. Matt Walters scored on a one yard run which added up to a 43-0 lead at halftime.

Fenroy returned the second half kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to open the second half. It was Fenroy's 7th kickoff return for a touchdown in his career and his first this season. Jared Nowell scored the final touchdown for the Comets on a 32 yard punt return.

The Comets held the Rams to just 42 yards total offense in the game. The Rams netted a minus 9 yards rushing and only had 51 yards passing. David Rollo and Darin Helm intercepted passes for the Comets.

Tyrell Fenroy rushed for 116 yards on just 7 carries. He scored 4 touchdowns to raise his season total to 9. Jesse martin was 5 - 5 for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns. Robottom had 4 receptions for 48 yards and two scores.
