SCC family mourns loss of loved ones
The SCC community has lost four outstanding Comet alumni and currently grieves for these young men and their families. Stanley Borne (Class of '04), Ken Horzelski (Class of '05), Josh McNulty (Class of '05), and Pat McTopy (Class of '05) and their friend Chance Millet (Riverside) all lost their lives in a tragic boating accident Saturday August 9 on Blind River. Brandon Prudhomme who also attended SCC survived the accident and is in a Baton Rouge hospital.
Because of the impact of this tragedy SCC is preparing to offer counseling services to our students who may also be feeling a sense of loss at this time, especially the siblings, family members and friends who will be attending SCC this school year.
SCC will continue to pray for God's mercy and love to touch all those who grieve at this time. These Comets are now at rest and watching us - they are not done with life, but participating in eternal life with Christ.
SCC hopes that the familes of Josh, Pat, Ken and Stanley accept our deepest sympathy as we continue to pray for them as well as the families of Chance Millet and Brandon Prudhomme.
Prayer Service
There will be a Holy Hour at St. Joan of Arc Church on Sunday, August 17th from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM for Stanley Borne, Ken Horzelski, Joshua McNulty, Pat McTopy, and Chance Millet . Members of our community who would like to come to pray for these young men who tragically lost their lives as well as for the recovery of their friend, Brandon Prudhomme, are welcome.
