SCC recently held its annual Carnival Ball. The theme for the night was "An Evening of Masquerade Memories. This theme was picked to commemorate the past twenty years of carnival balls and to keep the tradition of the ball alive.
The night began with the introduction of the past King and Queen from Krewe de Charles Ball XIX, Rustin Steib and Jenna Gaudet. Then this year's court was presented, ending with the presentation of this year's King and Queen, Mark Murphy and Alana Smith. Once the court was seated, the entertainment began. Bacchus, played my Jeremy Guidry, started off the festivities along with his cronies, Michael Oncale, Darin Helm, Kyle Faucheux, and Vincent Rollo. The starsteppers were up next to perform their award-winning novelty routine, "Welcome to the Jungle." Then, the cheerleaders graced the floor with their "Cotton Eye Joe" routine. Next, a group of dancers performed to "C'mon Everybody", followed by a piece from Seussical the Musical "Horton Hears A Who," by drama students. Finally, at the end of the entertainment, all of the entertainers came together to perform a finale together. After the entertainment ended, presentation of past kings and queens from the past twenty years were presented, followed by the court dance and call outs. The night ended with the retirement of the court, followed by plenty of food and dancing to the tunes of the Wiseguys. |
