With the approach of the Christmas holidays, St. Charles also approaches the departure of the some of the displaced students. Throughout the past few months, many friendships have been formed. To show their appreciation and fellowship, both original Comets and new Comet students wrote notes to one another. These notes were placed on the "Friendship Board", in the cafeteria, for the entire student body to admire.
Each school is represented by a figure with that school's logo drawn on it by the SCC art students.
These are a few letters written by both SCC students and displaced students.

"I'm so glad you're here...I don't want you to leave."

" Thanks for making my stay at SCC one I will never forget."

"Thank all of you for graciously taking us into your school. You are
awesome. I hope we all stay friends. "

" I'm so glad we've become such good friends. I don't
know what I would do without you ."

" Thanks for making SCC a brighter place."

" Thanks for being so welcoming! Ya'll were wonderful. It wasn't how I expected this year to turn out, but I'm glad that it did. You made it feel like home and that I was a true Comet. "
