January 1st 2009, the first day of the New Year, early in the morning when most parties were winding down a young man by the name of Zachary Revall was driving home after dropping off his friends. While driving Zachary spotted a fire above the second story door, of one of the neighborhood's houses. While taking a second to realize what was happening, he quickly parked his car and ran towards the house. Right away he started banging on the door trying to wake the occupants. Zachary then ran across the to neighbors and got them to call 911, then quickly dashed back over to the burning house and continued to bang on the door until all the occupants were awake and someone finally answered the door.

When everyone inside the house was safely outside, Mrs.Karcher one of the houses occupants, stated that her nephew was still up stairs. In an act of heroic duty he quickly ran up stairs and got her nephew down stairs by carrying him. Then, after making sure Mrs.Karcher's nephew was safe, Zachary then proceeded to to use their garden hose to tame the fire while waiting for the fire department. When asked about how he felt Zachary said," The adrenaline rush dosen't give you time to think just act."
